XYLOPHONE CAMP is a week-long seminar for college students, advanced high school, enthusiasts and professionals run alongside Marimba Madness at Richardson High School. The camp faculty, Jonathan Singer, has previously taught summer programs at the University Delaware Xylophone Institute, Xylophest in New York City and at Marimba Madness in 2018.
The camp focus is on historic performance practice of solo xylophone playing by virtuoso performers from the early 20th century. Participants each have their own instrument provided in order to practice improvisation, technical exercises, and repertoire throughout the week.
